John Christopher Depp II was born June 9, 1963. After fronting a series of garage bands, he stepped into acting after meeting actor Nicolas Cage. He made his film debut in “Nightmare on Elm Street” in 1984 and has shown a knack ever since for playing the strange, the twisted, the macabre, the different and the endearing.
